Managing Custom Fields for Multiple Dogs

How do I deal with multiple dogs?

To effectively manage multiple dogs in GrowthMap™ it's essential to consider the data needed and how it will be utilized. Custom fields play a crucial role in organizing and referencing this information.

Creating Custom Fields:

  1. Consolidate Dog Names: For scenarios where multiple dogs need to be referenced together, consolidate their names into a single custom field. This is useful for broadcast emails or text messages addressing all dogs.
  2. Individual Dog Information: To manage specific programs associated with each dog, create separate custom fields for each dog. For example, "Dog Name Number One" and "Dog Name Number Two" for individual dog names.
  3. Program Association: Use dropdown fields to assign programs to each dog. This ensures clarity on the programs each dog is enrolled in. For instance, "Dog Number One Program" with options like "Puppy Potty Training," "Board and Train," and "Day Train."
  4. Organizing Custom Fields: Group related fields together by creating folders within the custom fields section. This helps in visually organizing the data for easier access and management.

Implementation:

  • Enter individual dog names and their respective programs in the custom fields within the contact record.
  • Utilize the consolidated dog names field for mass communications that include the names of all a client's dogs.
  • Customize the organization of custom fields based on personal preference, such as creating separate folders for each dog for a more structured view.

By strategically utilizing custom fields and folders in GrowthMap™ dog trainers like Dave can efficiently manage multiple dogs with distinct programs, ensuring streamlined communication and data organization.
