How to Make Outbound Calls from Your Existing Phone Number in GrowthMap™
This guide walks you through setting up Verified Caller ID in GrowthMap™ so you can make outbound calls that display your existing office number, cell phone number, or any other number you own, directly from the CRM.
Why Use Verified Caller ID?
If you’ve been in business for years with the same phone number, it’s important to keep that number recognizable for your outbound calls. With CRM call masking feature, you can:
- Use your personal or business number for outbound calls
- Log calls directly inside your CRM
- Maintain brand and personal familiarity with your contacts
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Open Phone Number Settings
- Log in to your GrowthMap™ account.
- Click the Settings button (⚙️ icon).
- Scroll down and select Phone Numbers from the menu.
2. Locate Your Approved Number
- You’ll see your current number(s) listed here.
Note:A2P approval is only required for texting it doesn’t affect outbound or inbound calls.
3. Add a Verified Caller ID
- Go to the Verified Caller ID section.
- Click Add Number → Add Verified Caller ID.
- Enter the phone number you want to use as your caller ID.
- Click Verify Number.
4. Complete the Verification Call
- You’ll receive an automated call on the number you entered.
- Follow the prompt to enter the verification code displayed in GrowthMap™.
- Once verified, the number will appear in your Verified Caller ID list.
5. Set as Outbound Caller ID
- In the Phone Numbers section, click Edit Configuration on your active number.
- Look for the option:
- “Use your verified caller ID as caller ID for outbound numbers”.
- Select your newly verified number.
- Click Save.
6. Test Your Setup
- Make a test call from within GrowthMap™.
- The recipient should see your chosen verified number on their caller ID (e.g., “Maybe [Your Name]”).
Key Notes
- A2P approval is not needed for calling, only for SMS campaigns.
- You can verify numbers like your cell phone, office phone, or even Google Voice.
- This feature works great for solopreneurs or small businesses wanting professional, consistent outbound communication.
