Setting Up Phone System for GrowthMap Account
The objective of this SOP is to guide the setup of a phone system for a GrowthMap account, including registering phone numbers with carriers, purchasing numbers, configuring call forwarding, and assigning numbers to staff members.
Register Phone Numbers with Carriers:
- Ensure that all business phone numbers are registered with carriers to enable sending and receiving text messages and phone calls.
- Check the Trust Center in the GrowthMap account for verification status (green checkmark indicates verification).
- Contact support if any numbers are unverified, rejected, or pending.
Purchase Phone Numbers:
- In the GrowthMap account, purchase a default number or as many numbers as needed.
- Add a phone number by searching for specific area codes or toll-free numbers.
- Configure the purchased phone number.
Configure Call Forwarding:
- Determine the call forwarding setup for incoming calls.
- Set up forwarding to the main business phone number or a specific number of choice.
- Utilize features like call connect and voicemail recording if needed.
Assign Numbers to Staff Members:
- Assign purchased phone numbers to individual staff members.
- Allow staff members to choose how they want to answer calls (mobile app, desktop, forwarded to cell phone, etc.).
- Set preferences for call handling, such as answering in the mobile app or forwarding to a cell phone.
Additional Tips
- Purchase phone numbers based on business needs (e.g., one for each staff member, one for the business, etc.).
- Utilize call forwarding features to streamline call handling and improve customer service.
- Encourage staff members to set preferences for call answering to optimize communication efficiency.
- Ensure all phone numbers are registered with carriers for A2P compliance.
- Verify the status of phone number registrations in the Trust Center and contact support for assistance if needed.
- Double-check call forwarding configurations to avoid missed calls or misrouted calls.
